Sacre Coeur
By Bryan Garaventa
"Sacre Coeur" is an atmospheric interpretation of Paris at sunset after rainfall, inspired by descriptions of Montmartre during visits in the spring of 2013. Wet stone streets reflecting fading light, distant storm clouds moving across the skyline, and the glow of the city beneath the basilica create an atmosphere suspended between romance, history, and memory. The work explores how place can be experienced emotionally through sound, description, and imagination rather than through direct visual perception.
